I love to draw a carve through clay. The black is painted on with an engobe or slip coloured black.
Look closely to see the brush marks in the black slip. It is always great to see marks of the from the brush as it adds an extra layer of interest.

Petal Vases
I am quite happy about how these turned out. The form is a petal shape and then the pattern
matches the form by repeating the petal design all over. The black and white is striking with its high contrast.
The honey vase is softer and warmer in feel.

Clay Bead Jewellry
These necklaces are fabulous to wear. The main clay bead pendant is made from rolled out wet clay and stamped with my own clay designs. Each one of these are made individually and are one of a kind pieces.
Pottery and painting
I feel that
the most beautiful objects are in nature. The stunning range of colour,
texture, and visual appeal from natural objects is the where I derive ideas for
my work. Much of my work in clay is textural pictorials of nature’s treasures.
I produce unique clay bead jewellery, pottery, and sculpture that have the
common thread of relief design and texture. My other passion is colour and I
paint to explore colour combinations in an abstract way. My paintings source
again is the natural landscape, but through my coloured glasses.
